Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium trip photos during British Science Week
Our pupils engaged in unplugged technology activities dissecting and disassembling electronic toddler toys with motors, lights and buttons to examine, tinker and learn how things work and carrying out investigations and examine the basic elements of parts. They have also been reusing electronic toy parts to glue and make robots and a vehicle buggy including an electronic windmill.
Our new micro:bits – Children coding on our brand new micro:bits version 2 coding basic show icons and sounds.
Maths Week England 2024 – Our pupils busy taking part in Maths Week England 2024 designing bar charts, creating PowerPoint maths presentations, shape puzzles, decimal pixel art and times table games.
World Space Week 2023 – pupils taking part in World Space Week learning about how astronauts work in space and exploring our solar system, space debris, satellites and planets using 3D glasses.
National Coding Week 2023 – Pupils engaged in National Coding Week 2023, making decoder wheels and code breaking secret words. Lots of ScratchJr coding using movements and repeats.
Art Movements – The children have been potters making Greek teacups, pots, jugs with white clay and round pottery Greek stamps then placing on a plate spinner to paint their pottery projects.
Designing truss bridges with engineering – Our amazing young engineers with hands-on engineering and designing truss bridges, various bridge structures and building using plain wooden lolly sticks.
